We believe that students learn best when engaging with the 5 C’s:

  • Communication
  • Collaboration
  • Critical Thinking
  • Creativity and
  • Citizenship

Tree of Life Charter International School (TLC School) believes that 21st century learning best occurs when students are fully engaged in exploring challenging, real life questions and problems, and discovering the answers and solutions through their own collaboration of ideas, research and exploration.  The optimal learning environment is one in which all students are valued for who they are and what unique gifts and talents they contribute to the community.

Students are explicitly taught to respect and honor one another, and to take responsibility for their own actions.  Students have freedom to make mistakes in this environment  of a Growth Mindset, where there is no shame or blame, and students are taught empathy, forgiveness and compassion for others in a local and global context. By acquiring 2nd and/or 3rd language skills and cultural understanding, exploring the world through a technology-embedded inquiry-based learning model and by engaging in local and global service learning opportunities, all students will become self-motivated, competent and lifelong learners.
