Charter schools are not allowed to discourage a pupil from enrolling or seeking to enroll in the charter school because the pupil exhibits any characteristics such as students with disabilities, academically low-achieving, English learners, neglected or delinquent, homeless, socially economically disadvantaged, foster youth, or based on nationality, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Charter schools are not allowed to request a pupil’s records before enrollment or encourage a child who is enrolled in a charter school to disenroll or transfer to another school. A parent, guardian, or pupil (18 years or older) may file a Charter School Complaint Form to the authorizing entity if they suspect the charter school is in violation of Education Code Section 47605(d)(4).

The Tree of Life International Charter School Lottery for school year 2020-21 will take place on Wed, April 1, 2020.  In order to be included in the enrollment lottery, you must attend a mandatory school visit, and your application must be received by Tuesday, March 31 at 3:00pm.

Siblings, children of staff members, and students who live within walking distance have priority in the lottery. Students who attend the SOCE Tree of Life Preschool have secondary priority. In order to receive the priority for lottery, the completed application packet must be returned by March 31, 2020 by 3:00pm. Parents will be informed by Thursday, April 2, 2020 if they have a spot or will be placed on the Wait List. All student enrolling after April 1 will be placed on the Wait List. Students are called from the wait list throughout the spring and summer and up to the first 2 weeks of school as space becomes available.
